Unit 5 – Working to a Brief

 Analysing the Brief

I decided to work my way through the brief and analyse the critical criteria within further detail so I knew exactly what needed to be created. I highlighted key points of interest then added comments.

S.W.O.T Chart

Strengths

• I am confident on computer graphic creation software such as Photoshop however my skills on Photoshop however could be further developed.
• I have done media and logo creation for business before so I know what kind of thing to be aiming for.
• I have a creative eye and I am good at graphic creation.

Weaknesses

• My skills on Photoshop aren’t developed enough to create professional looking logos.
• I haven’t created for commercial use before.
• The time scale will be difficult to create a fully completed set of logos within the time.

Opportunities

• I could potentially get my logo created for commercial use which would be a great thing to put as a future reference and on a CV.
• Other people could get to see my logo and it will show them my personal skills within graphic creation.
• It could bring new opportunities such as job offers and other work roles.
• Could bring future work within other businesses for graphic creation.

Threats

• My peers will also be working to create graphics and logos for the same brief.
• The computers with the software I was working with have a very minor chance of not working.
• The logo I create isn’t to the standard of what the client is looking for.

Action Plan

Firstly I shall use online tutorials to help improve and develop my skills within Adobe Photoshop. This will also help toward creating a professional graphic creation. I also will create a time plan so that I can manage the creation of my graphics to meet the deadlines. I shall also check that multiple places that I will be working will all have the software I require to create my work and will have muliple back ups of my work on flash drives.
