2.7 Prep Work for Christmas Break

When you return the Unit 29 Music Video assignment brief will be set. 
In class we will begin our new Unit on Television Ident Production.

Here is the Prep work for the report you will be producing for your assessment of you understanding of the purposes and opportunities of Idents.

All work MUST be evidenced on your blogs when you return in the New Year

Task 1: Read over PPT and make notes to define and describe the following terms - there will be a Quiz when you return


          i.            channel's identity
         ii.            to brand the channel
        iii.            Brand loyalty
        iv.            to market
         v.            segmentation
        vi.            provide information
        vii.           rebrand the channel

Task 2: Watch a range of 6 television idents. Write a short description and give at least 3 characteristics - here are some places to start: 

Task 3: Research the 3 links below and make Cornell Notes on the opportunities and purpose and history of television idents.

Task 4: Select 1 specific 'suite of Idents' for a channel and make notes discussing:

         i. What is an Ident?
        ii. What is the purpose of an Ident/how has the purpose changed over time?
       iii. How does it create Brand Identity of the channel (personality, associations)
         ii. Use of colours, logo and graphics
        iii. 
        iv. How it attracts the attention of the audience

Task 4: Present your analysis to camera with screen grabs to back up your discussion
